About Us
Lesotho High School is a government school which provides full post-primary education for boys and girls irrespective of religious denomination. It is managed by the Board of Governors on behalf of the Government of Lesotho. It is a center of excellence in education, fostering knowledge, leadership, and innovation since 1939.
The school was opened in 1939 and the classes began on the 22nd February 1939,
during the paramouncy of Nathanael Griffith Lerotholi C.B.E and was dedicated to the services of the youth of Lesotho
in the development of character and the pursuit of knowledge. It offers opportunity for learners to benefit not only academically, but from extra-curricular activities such as sports activities, in which all are encouraged to join.

Our Story
Lesotho High School was known as Basotho Land High School until 1966 and the name was changed to Lesotho High School since then. The school has been doing well academically up to 1970s and in the 1980s the school realised a decline in academic performance. It was during this decline that Mr Bohloko from Ministry of Education and Training at that time advised the Government of Lesotho to ask for assistance from United Kingdom. One British male teacher was invited to head the school. Upon his arrival, he revived the school and encouraged a hard working spirit amongst members of staff. The performance of the school was improved. Since then, the school has been doing very well in terms of the results.
